"My goal is to connect my artwork back to nature, and to utilize some of the elements found in nature in my work. Pyrography translates to "writing with fire" and is the tradition of using heated metal tip or wire to burn or scorch designs onto natural materials such as wood or leather. In my images I use the open flame of a blowtorch on a wooden surface to create images. By utilizing a "blow" torch instead of the traditional heated tips, I feel a deeper creative connection to the natural elements of Wind, Earth, and Fire."
