What I see, feel and touch in my everyday life is what inspires me to create endlessly on glass. The beautiful shapes and expressions of children's faces, the endless shapes of the human body along with the colorful characters of street life all transform into unique pieces of glass art. My glass is my canvas, my inspirations are my palette.

As with any relationship, the opportunity to experiment and push the limit to see what is and is not compatible is how I approach my glass designs. The beauty of this relationship is that I may be in control of what I design on glass, however, the ending results of my designs are always determined by the heat of the kiln.

The technique of glass fusing begins with flat, compatible glass and a kiln. No matter what design I have created on glass, my kiln results will, most of the time, be creatively different. It seems that once the numerous layers of glass enter the kiln and reaches the fusing state 1420+ degrees the glass tends to decide how it really wants to look. Glass at that temperature tends to shift, form bubbles, or change colors slightly. With the possible changes that can occur during a firing it seems that the glass will decide how to compliment my design!

My studies at Pilchuck Glass School and Pratt Fine Art in Seattle, also at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN and Pittsburgh Glass Center is just a stepping stone to the continuous learning experiences creating with fused glass art.

Since living in Georgia, my glass designs are truly inspired by the beauty of the state. Rich colors of the land transform onto my glass. Having the opportunity to continue to expound on the endless medium of fused glass art has been enriching to me because of its unlimited potential and natural beauty.

I will continue to grasp the endless learning experiences creating fused glass art!
